Flowers at 60 MPH

I live for days like today.  This morning I snuggled with the boys and watched a movie then started on the laundry.  I am still drying our clothes outside and am excited for the sunny windy days ahead this week because our laundry baskets are full! (I even wore some maternity clothes yesterday because I am out of clean normal ones.) Since it is so nice out I decided to take the boys for a walk after lunch to pick up some bread and our dry cleaning.  We live right in the middle of a retail area but still have privacy and a big yard for the boys. Its perfect here.  On our way home we walk along a very busy road with a nice big sidewalk.  As we walked James would ask me to pick the wildflowers he saw.  When we pulled into the driveway I put Joey down in his bed since he fell asleep part of the way home and grabbed a old peach jar. We put James' wild bouquet in it. I placed it on the picnic table in the backyard and James studied and stared at it while I put more clothes on the line.  It is amazing how many beautiful flowers were growing on the side of the highway.  I felt like I was living in slow motion as I picked them while the semi trucks and cars zoomed by.  It felt nice to slow down and appreciate the beauty around me with the boys. Who knew that the weeds on the side of the road were purple, pink, blue, red, white, and yellow?

Sometimes we need to view the world down on the level of a child. They see beauty we sometimes miss.
