Growing Rocks for FHE

A watched pot never boils and it sin't much fun to watch paint dry but watching a jar of growing rocks is riveting if you are a four year old boy named James!

One of his birthday presents this year was a package of growing rocks.
We decided to make them grow for FHE last week.  It was a blast and James could have stared at that jar for hours!

After about 20 minutes the initial growth spurt was done so we convinced him to come on a bike ride with us to McDonald's for an ice cream cone.  He reluctantly agree to part with his magic rocks for some ice cream.

Lucky for us (or perhaps unlucky for us!) we live about a block from McDonalds so it only takes a few minutes to bike there.  Hiram was nice enough to ride my bike with the boys in the trailer.  He is the greatest!
The boys enjoyed their ice cream cones and Hiram was extra nice and spent a few dollars more to buy a few happy meal toys.

They loved making their Sponge Bob on a skateboard go across the table and even forgot about eating their ice cream cones.  Of course that meant Hiram and I had to help eat them instead.  Its can be so hard to be a parent sometimes. (hehe)
